My stay at the Griffin Hotel was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic for exploring Colonial Williamsburg, and I appreciated the spacious room with a nice balcony. However, the breakfast options were quite disappointing, just basic snack foods, and the maintenance of the room left much to be desired, like a clogged toilet and lack of cleaning service on the first day.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were quite large, with plenty of space for my mobility scooter. However, I noticed a musty smell, and there was quite a bit of dust around, making it feel less clean than it should have been. The bed and pillows were comfortable, though.
Service
6.0
While the staff was quick to respond to my requests, it did feel like my needs were secondary to those of the Williamsburg Inn guests. I was surprised by how the cleaning service seemed to overlook my room initially.

This hotel is in a great spot for walking around Williamsburg. The tranquility of the wooded area was lovely after a busy day. It's a short walk to Gloucester Street and the colonial sites, which I really enjoyed.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast was pretty disappointing. I expected something more substantial, but it was just small packets of oatmeal and snack bars. It felt more like a frontier-style breakfast than what I would hope for at a hotel.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offers decent facilities, including free city shuttles and valet parking, but overall, it seemed like they could improve their upkeep and the variety of amenities.

I had some mixed feelings about my stay at the Griffin Hotel. While the location is perfect and staff were generally friendly, I encountered several issues including outdated facilities and a disappointing breakfast. The experience could've been much better with a little more attention to details.

My room had a musty smell like mold and mildew, which was quite off-putting. Plus, I found both live and dead bugs, and cobwebs scattered around. It was not a pleasant sight.
Service

The staff that I interacted with were really helpful and efficient. They assisted me with my needs without hesitation, which made things a little better.
Location

The hotel has a fantastic location, super close to Colonial Williamsburg and within walking distance to spots like Merchant Square. Being in such a wooded area felt like a retreat.
Dining

The included breakfast was frankly terrible—kind of like eating at a gas station. I was hoping for more variety, maybe some fresh fruit or decent pastries, but it just fell flat.
Facilities

The pool was a decent spot, but it was located in a different building, making it inconvenient. Also, the facilities in the room seemed outdated, and I had some trouble accessing the coffee maker.

My stay at the Griffin Hotel in Colonial Williamsburg was quite lovely overall, yet it had its ups and downs. The setting is beautiful and convenient, with spacious rooms that are generally comfortable. However, I did notice some wear in the room's interior and a few maintenance issues. I would consider returning, but there are aspects that could improve the experience. 😊

The service was friendly and efficient, though I experienced a bit of a hiccup with check-out notifications that woke me early.

The breakfast options were quite limited; mostly just oatmeal packets and fruit cups, which didn't feel very substantial.

Facilities like free shuttle service and spacious rooms were a plus, though the lack of an on-site check-in area was slightly inconvenient.

I had a fantastic stay at the Griffin Hotel! The location is unbeatable, just a block away from all the historic attractions. The spacious rooms were clean and comfortable, although my room wasn't serviced on the first day. While the dining options could use a bit more variety, the overall experience was good.

The hotel is perfectly located near the historic colonial area and so close to everything, giving it a retreat-like feel while being right in the heart of Williamsburg.

Although the dining options were basic, I wished for more healthy choices like fruit and bagels instead of the sugary options available.

However, I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast options, which didn’t quite match the overall vibe of my stay. Still, the overall experience was relaxing, and I'd definitely consider coming back!
